1. Thought of @JustDes when I saw this in todays paper. #CustomerService (@Gotissuez)

Guess they’re stepping their game up - they are one of Africa’s most proactive banks. Not sure it applies here just yet, but they are innovative, see below for the amazing social media initiative they’ve started.

Akin to Dell Ideastorm and Best Buy’s approach in the states. It’s admirable and we can only hope they’ll pick up the ball here at home.

  2. Proof that I won the Kenyan lottery but lost the ticket :'( (Pic + Story)

    I never play the Lottery.
But I like to get out of my comfort zone from time to time.

Was walking in town (not walking backwards this time) and thought what could I possibly do to ‘break the cycle’

Saw a booth. Bought a ticket. Went home with it (I had no idea you were supposed to scratch it there and then to ‘claim your winnings’) Long story short: I won.

Proof is that there’s three 1,000’s. Pity, I couldn’t find the ticket the next morning.

    Karma, I guess.

  5. Sunset by the lake. In 6 feet of imaginary water.(Pics) #globalwarming #africa #kenya #drought #flood

Note: This was a couple months ago when the drought was still prevalent. We have a lake not too far from the house. And I grew up here. We’d make ‘boats’ - anything that could float - and come sail them here. Catch fish and crayfish (cousins to lobsters) too.

They were good times. Took a walk there a while back. Was very very dry. ***
Note: since the pics were taken, around 4 feet of water now fills the little ‘lake’ though its visibly smaller than one.

  6. EXCLUSIVE: @DawaTheFilm and Just A Band (@justabandwidth) (PICS) #Screening #Africa #KenyansOnTwitter

@DawaTheFilm - Http://Twitter.com/DawaTheFilm visited Just A Band last week for an evening of chilling, lounging and a surprise visit by The Teichmann Brothers who also watched Dawa The Film and gave a good review. @Jimchuchu @nairobidhobi and @82blink were present with @mbithi @Mugash and @WairimuG were in the building. Not forgetting Njoki Ngumi, who we tried to convince to get on Twitter.

Was great, had a lively discussion and got to listen to the band’s sophomore album (In stores, Amazon, iTunes and Blip.fm) Mark Kaigwa
